Amethyst Earrings

Amethyst earrings on knotted silk.

I love these beads, and as is often the case with gemstones, I have only been able to find this size, grade, and color once.

So, I wanted to use what I have in a way that shows them best. I like to make earrings with gemstones because they allow the most light to pass through and show the deep colors and variation. These are all about the purple, but earrings should always have something shiny, so they are topped with silver star caps and finished with drops.
